Aquaponics For U

Have you ever wanted to get into aquaponics? What is aquaponics any way? This method of farming uses fish and other aquatic animals to grow plants “hydroponically.” Seems rather simple and right up my alley in terms of sustainable zero waste living. I have gone to local meet ups to try to learn, but I realized very quickly, it would be a little pricey to set everything up. This system is for those interested in aquaponics, but may have a smaller budget. You can buy the DVD’s or use online stream to build your own system under $400. This system was created by veteran gardener John Fay, who is a certified organic gardener and aquaponics expert.

What's Included In the Product?

These are the claims of what you receive when you order from them.

  • Step by Step Video Instructions- For those who are visual learners, the instructions are rather intense and easy even for those who are new to gardening
  • Written manual in addition to video with pictures

Fay includes some extras which I thought were great:

  •  You Guide To Organic Cooking
  •  Eating Healthy
  •  Worm Farming
  • A Guide to Flower Gardening
  • Herbs for Health & Home
  • Organic Gardening For Beginners

Pros

  • Learn to set up and grow more food in smaller spaces.
  • Use less water. Aquaponics systems use about 2% of the water you would normally use putting plants in soil.
  • Simple step by step instructions for people completely new to aquaponics with videos and written instructions.
  • No need to get your hands dirty with soil and dirt.

Cons

I think one of the biggest drawbacks if any, is that there is no log to track your measurements. This log is needed to track pH, EC, and all of your grow notes.  If you are just getting started, you definitely need this, so you can figure out what works and what doesn’t work.

Summary

Aquaponics, in my opinion is a great starter in  the land of hydroponic farming. You will no doubt want to expand if you buy this guide and start your farm. This is how I feel with my current garden, but if you are a total newbie, and a visual learning this system might work for you. You can always start your own journal to keep track of your measurements, and you get the added value of the additional guides.
