“These vegan black bean burgers are a fantastic alternative to traditional burgers served with meat. Simple and very delicious!”

I am back with another recipe. This time I was inspired by Pure Ella, which is a vegan gluten-free blog. I made a few tweaks given I didn’t have all of the ingredients. They still came out great, and I used them for a meal prep week. I am from Southern California land of the burger drive-thru, so I know my way around a burger. I have to admit, I miss them greatly. Most fast food tastes horrible, so I do not miss those, however, finding a vegan option was imperative if I wanted to continue eating them.
What I appreciate about black bean burgers is the taste. I love black beans. I use them a lot, and they are just so versatile. I recently saw them used for brownies. I always make sure to keep a can in my cupboard for recipes.

- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt or to taste
- freshly cracked black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup Flour
- Olive oil to cook
Ingredients

- In a food processor, add in all the ingredients (except the last two: flour & oil) and mix until fully combined.
- Transfer to a large bowl so it's easier to work from.
- Make patties in circular shape
- Sprinkle the flour onto a large plate, drop the patty onto the flour and coat all over, dust off excess with your fingers.
- Heat a large cast iron pan, drizzle oil on the bottom and place the patties on the pan.
- Cook each side on medium low heat for about 3-5 minutes, then turn them over to cook the other side, until the colour darkens and they are firmer in shape.
- Alternatively, you can bake them at 350 F for 20-30 minutes, turning over half way through.
- Let cool for 5 minutes until serving.
